I got the Switch 2 and spent a week playing Mario Kart World. It's been fun learning little bits of tech by playing the Staff Ghosts, Nintendo also just announced an update to Splatoon 3 so I'm back into that as of next week. Cool beans.

I don't know how work does this, but it sucks up all of my time and then suddenly it's June already!I've also been a typical guy who has been sick but is restless, suddenly did his overdue tax return and other banal admin work I feel stressed about. At least I bought my girlfriend's gifts ahead of time.

Thing of the Day: RetroDotCards, there's a new series of Game Boy Advance E-Reader games coming out. Really novel concept that seems really viable to execute. There's a 2D Horizontal Shooter and legally distinct Solitaire, Mine Sweeper and Snake clones available.

Back to work, I've got reporting period after marking and being a better teacher - an ongoing endeavour.

I've backflipped on zines, having researched what zines are hosted by people on Neocities - a lot have standalone webpages that function as the zines... basically articles. Maybe I should just do that with some mixed media, or other materials I illustrate, write or work on when playing a game. My idea was to look at Super Mario Bros. bootlegs - for example Super Mario Bros. 4 is actually a cheap reskin of Armadillo on NES. It's a WIP, I feel as though I need to finish the game before I move on... and lastly, what to plug this week?

Thing of the Day: DVLSBLSH, now a zine but previously a neocities. Just enjoy the aesthetics, wished I had a CRT filter to run some gaming shots through.

Returned home from the trip, many Beechworth brews for me to review on CoastersAU. I've brainstormed a few zines to upload here. I don't mind articles, but just finding I go too far... maybe having a limit will mean my thoughts are more condensed.

Thing of the Day: The 24 Hour Check-In, a Hotel/Motel review series. In this episode they cover El Topo Motel, a seedy hotel in Warwick Farm. I used to frequent the Cantina - an under-rated Mexican restaurant in beautiful Sydney South West and they review that in the video too.

I've been visiting my Mum at Kiewa, which is a little bit south of Wodonga from the NSW/Victorian state border. Been taking in the sights and visiting a few small towns like Yackandandah, Beechworth (who had their Golden Horse Shoe Festival for Easter). A bit of pride for the gold mining heritage, and surprising achnowledgement of Chinese immigration.

Thing of the Day: Pro Jank Footy, an arcade sports comedy game available to Wishlist on Steam. Think Aussie Rules, however it makes even less sense as goals allow power-ups that jank up the game. Looks too good to be true.

Recorded with The Moderate Themes, the start of a new album.

Thing of the Day: FunFactor, the podcast. Enjoy reading retro gaming mags on Archive.org, surprisingly the concept of reviewing an old review, as well as background checking a retro publication, its features and staff transfers to a Podcast seamlessly.

Thing of the Day: Ranfren, the webcomic. Found this on the discover page, it's a surrealist dark comedy web-comic

I feel like Oprah having a "thing of the day", love the microblog idea so made one, found a PC on the side of the road, repurposed children's chairs to plant stands, got my car serviced, chose a selection of 90's CDs for the Easter weekend roadtrip to Mum's, played video games.
